My Head is Going to Explode

by Scott Johnson on October 8, 2009

Do you ever have a week where you just want to grow a gnarly beard and head for the mountains of Wyoming before you have a mental breakdown of  Chief Inspector Dreyfus proportion?  I even have the twitchy eyelid thing going.   (OLD Pink Panther only!)

Ohh nooos

That’s kind of where I’m at.  I do honestly enjoy being busy; idle hands beget mischief and what not. But lately my pot has been boiling over so to speak.  The last straw occurred when my hard drive went kaput.  Yep, the feared Blue Screen of Death visited me when I was simply editing the website.  I mentioned how I wrecked my first blog, which I thought was nearing respectability. Once I got that back on track, my hard drive goes.  And I thought all my precious music vanished along with it.

Thankfully, the great folks at Enegren saved me–Nate in particular.  I have a deep appreciate for the music collection I’ve amassed over the years.  It’s absurdly important to me.   I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I couldn’t get all of it back.

So I’ve compiled a brief list of some outlandish feats I would attempt to restore my iTunes library.  Ohh the things I would do:

  • Enter The Octagon against some huge dude named Kimbo or something equally intimidating
  • Eat one of those big cockroaches
  • Watch Blue Collar Comedy Tour
  • Attend a WNBA game
  • Base jump off of Royal Gorge Bridge

None of those are necessary  now.  All is right now in the state of my music world.  Although it is still a shame the band Jellyfish broke up.

Tomorrow, I’m meeting with Ben Tyson of Time Trails.  You probably haven’t heard of it yet, but I imagine you will within a few years.  The idea behind Time Trails is to combine geography, time, and history into vibrant visual display.  I will discuss this more in my next post, but Time Trails in a nut shell will allow you to literally watch history unfold before your eyes.  Think of it as a history version of Google Earth.  Yah.  Cool.
